COUNTDOWN TO MOVING:
Seven days to go
Before the big day.
With the sun high in the sky
I went shopping today.
I needed a bed for my new apartment,
Saw one yesterday that took my eye.
So decided overnight
That would be the one I would buy.
I paid the assistant,
Arranged to have it delivered on moving day,
Must have a comfortable bed,
My weary head to lay.
That done and dusted,
I espied a cabinet for my pc.
Well, If I was having a new home,
So must my pc.
Had a coffee before walking home,
Got a change of address form .
Spent the afternoon filling it in.
Not feeling as forlorn.
Suddenly realising that Spring
Is not far away.
A new home, blossom on the trees
And son John flying to the UK.
Life is at last looking up
At the end of today.
With a prayer of gratitude,
In my bed I will lay.

A new home and new beginnings!
ReplyDeleteYes Alex, I totally agree.
DeleteSounds like you had a good day! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat day Chrys, still some busy days to come.
DeleteLovely! Living a life of gratitude is imperative for a positive outlook. Good luck with your move!
ReplyDeleteI am not looking forward to the actual move as apart from the removal men I have no one to assist me. but I know I shall overcome those feelings.
DeleteSounds lovely and peaceful. Rest up! (smile)
ReplyDeleteIt's hectic for me Dixie but I will smile I promise,
ReplyDeleteBusy but exciting I hope, Yvonne. Once you're in you will feel more settled.
ReplyDeleteBusy yes, but exciting no as I don't have a soul to hep me on the day of the move .
DeleteI've had a good day today. Thanks for the visit.
I'm glad you found a new place to live! It's also great news that your son is coming to visit! Enjoy your time with him, and happy moving, Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Thanks Julie for the visit, I shall be pleased when Wednesday is over, but I will be thinking of John and Kelly coming over in April, that will keep me going.
DeleteGlad life is looking up indeed
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog for Patricia Wood's guest post, Yvonne. You must be looking foward to spring as much as I am. But, even though my tulips and even my gladiolus are peeking through the ground, we expect about 5 inches of snow this weekend.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your upcoming move. That can be a big upheaval in your life, but it sounds like you're ready.
Fantastic! Glad you found a place!
ReplyDeleteYes Gregg, good to have found a place but to be honest am scared of moving to where I don't know anyone, and still my kids won't help me.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you.
