A REMINDER FOR MOTHER'S DAY (UK)
15/03/2015

THE UNWANTED AND FORGOTTEN ONES:

Flowers in abundance,
Cards on display.
It's that time of year again
To celebrate Mother's Day.

From toddlers to adults
They give thanks to their dear mum.
For all that she has done for them
As to her house they come.

It is a lovely feeling to feel wanted
Within the family.
For she is the centre of attraction
As anyone can see.

Sadly there are many
Who are not wanted by their off springs.
As she waited for the mail to arrive
Or the phone to ring.

To bear grudges on certain days
Is not a pleasant thing to do.
After all the love and attention
She has given you.

A simple "Thank You Mum"
Would not go amiss.
So please don't forget YOUR mum
With a loving hug and kiss.

  2. Well, I'll thank you for the support you've provided to me over the years. I won't have my mother around to thank anymore after her passing last year. A mother is a treasure that can never be replaced. Someone needs a treasure map.

  3. How sweet, Yvonne. My mom passed in 1997 - not a day goes by... I miss her.

  5. I certainly won't forget my mom nor my dear mother-in-law. I pray that your children will honor you as they should regardless of the current situation. Of the many things that we get to pick and choose in this life, our mother is not not one of those things. Mine was truly a gift to me.

  6. You're so right about mothers and mothers-in-laws, as for my two over here they don't remember they choose to forget.
    Thanks for the visit.

  7. Those who still have their Moms are the luckiest of living humans. But still not many do realize this and give priority to having friends around them instead! Pity! Thanks for reminding Yvonne!

  8. I know mine won't forget, but choose to ignore the day completely. Maybe John in Spain may remember at the last minute and a card will arrive late....as always. But as I say better late than never..
