A WOMAN'S FACE:
(as the mirror reflects)
Helen had a face that launched a thousand ships,
Mine would launch a canoe.
With visable lines here and there
I don't know what to do.
I bought creams advertised on TV,
But to no avail.
What they don't tell you on TV
That they're promoted by young girls.
The mirror is no longer a friend,
That I have you know.
For looking into the "Evil Glass"
One more line it shows.
The problem is I feel "Young"
Not a bad thing I agree.
But it's the outside that's all wrong,
The part people see.
But I do possess an inner peace,
That comes out on top.
Perhaps my friends one day,
I'll have a go at Botox.
Perhaps you think I'm vain,
Perhaps you think I'm mad.
But I like to think they're laughter lines,
Which at the end of the day is not so bad.

Oh I do understand. I'm planning to post of photo of me soon... but wow, where did all that childish beauty go? Someone said try retinol - I'll let you know how it goes. LOL
ReplyDeleteWOW that was a quick comment Dixie, hope retinol does the trick for you Me? I think mine has gone too far....lol
DeleteThanks for the quick visit.
Aging on the outside happens. We just have to stay young at heart. That's what matters anyway.
ReplyDeleteOf course you're right Alex, Thanks.
DeleteJust have to roll with each turning of the page
ReplyDeleteI rather stay on an earlier page Pat.
ReplyDeleteI think most women don't like the changes age brings. But hopefully age has brought wisdom and a sense of accomplishment. If you have inner beauty, that should still shine through, even if your face is etched with lines.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry for YOUR words of wisdom, much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI think women who age gracefully are beautiful. My mom probably feels the same way as you do, Yvonne, but I tell her every day that's she's beautiful and looks twenty years younger than her actual age. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Chrys for those kind words, your mother is lucky to have a daughter like you.
DeleteDefinitely laughter lines. Embrace your beauty both inside and out!
ReplyDeleteWill do Donna, thanks for passing by,
DeleteSomeone once said that time marches on.
