DO YOU EVER THINK OF ME?
Do you ever think of me
At the break of each new day?
Do you ever think of me
As you travel along life's way?
Do you ever think of me
Though I maybe out of sight?
Do you ever think of me
As you kiss my grandson goodnight?
You came into my life
One July afternoon.
When the midwife announced "It's a girl"
I was over the moon.
You grew up a chatterbox
And a tomboy too.
But you brought joy into our lives
We were so proud of you.
As the years did pass,
So very swiftly I may add.
It was time to say "Goodbye"
To your beloved dad.
You were the apple of his eye
You could do no wrong.
What would he say and do
That in your life I don't belong.?
For life passes quickly,
Throughout the years to some.
The one fact you can't escape
I'm still your loving mum.
Please take stock of our situation,
Like the rolling tides of the sea.
Just once in a while daughter dear,
Please think a little of me.

So lovely. So sad. Life is strange. One day you may receive a call, a call you've been waiting for. I pray you do.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this poem many years ago, my son and daughter have been like this on and off for 16 years now, some times they will remember they have a mother then go another few years without speaking. I feel very hut and unwanted as I always put my family first mother and mother-in-law included.
DeleteHopefully one day soon thoughts will turn to action.
ReplyDeleteI still have that word hope Alex, but I know deep in my heart I am chasing rainbows..
DeleteI hope she reads this and responds.
ReplyDeleteAs I replied to Alex. Hope is always there, but it's a case of chasing rainbows on my part.
DeleteThanks for visiting Gregg.
Keeping you in thoughts and prayers, dear Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dixie, for your kind thoughts and prayers.
DeleteKeep smiling.
