MISSING AND FOUND:

 MISSING AND FOUND:

I knew when I moved apartments,
I would miss the wildlife.
Seven long years of feeding them,
To stop, caused me considerable strife.

I wonder what they must have thought and think,
Where their morning feed has gone?
It used to start the day for me,
Watching them gave me so much fun.

Well now I have been in my new apartment
Just over two  most" Up and Down weeks",
Today I saw an awesome sight,
Going down the street.

It was a trail of many cats,
Some black, ginger and brown.
Also a few tortoiseshell,
Going towards the town.

I know a neighbour has five cats,
But this was so many more.
I do so love the felines,
I'm going to enjoy living here I'm sure.

Of course I cannot feed them,
As mentioned it was an awesome sight.
I would like to creep back to my old apartment,
And leave nuts and seeds in the dead of night.

What a surprise it would be for squirrels/birds,
But must not for their sake.
Best to stay away with my memories,
And make it a clean break.

  3. I have a neighbor who has several cats. She doesn't feed the birds so they won't be attracted to her yard. So I feed the birds. One in a while I'll see a cat, but only one.
The cutest are my chipmunks. I've seen those little guys outrun the cat. They outrun everything, except for my lizards. Ha! (smile)

  4. It sounds like you are settling in. I'm happy for you.

In Tennessee I used to like watching all the dogs that were there years ago when I still lived with my parents. There were so many strays around the neighborhood and they made daily rounds that always seemed to be the same.

  5. Some days I feel more settled than others, today (Sunday) is Mother's Day as my two here in the UK choose to ignore the occasion I shall be somewhat upset..
I haven't seen many dogs here but the cats are a different story.
Thanks for passing by. Have a nice day.
