MOTHER'S DAY FOR ME:

To-day another Mother's Day dawns,
The sun high in the sky.
No cards, flowers or chocolates,
As unintentional tears I cry.

Two  of mine again has chosen
To ignore this special day.
As I recall years ago,
Their love they did display.

I wish I knew what I've done wrong,
To create this lack of belonging.
To be deprived of seeing my grandchildren,
Is another thing that has been forgoing.

They wasn't brought up to
Be cruel and   so unkind.
I wish I could look inside their heads
Top establish what's going on in their minds.

I do know though that my other son
In Sunny Spain.
Has sent a card yet to arrive,
That will ease some pain.

We were such a happy and united family,
In days of long ago.
A simple hug and a kiss would be suffice,
And the words"Mother I love you so".

So alone I'll spend Mother's Day,
Just like many in the past.
With the eternal word "Hope"
That this situation won't last.
