THE A TO Z CHALLENGE: B IS FOR BOYS FROM KILLYBEGS:

WELCOME TO DAY 2 OF THE A TO Z CHALLENGE:
MY THEME IS TO CHOOSE A SONG TITLE
THEN WRITE MY OWN POEM:
I couldn't do a post without including
a song about Ireland, Daniel's homeland.

B IS FOR BOYS FROM KILLYBEGS:
Recorded by Daniel O Donnell:

Should you visit Killybegs
In North Donegal.
You'll see the fishermen go out to sea
Singing so jovial.

It is a way of life for them,
Their main catch is Mackerel and Herring.
The fish is frozen in bulk,
And is distributed for world wide sharing.

It is mainly distributed to Europe,
Africa and    The Middle East.
One could imagine those abroad
Sitting down having a feast.

So when you see the men from Killybegs
Arrive home from the sea.
Just raise your hat in gratitude
They have just brought home your tea.

  1. I shall tip my hat then.
Knew at least one of Daniel's songs would make your cut.

  4. I love the last stanza. It particularly hits home how we often take for granted such people.

  11. I love to fish, Yvonne. But, alas, going out to sea is not for me. I get seasick, no jovial singing. Nice!!!
