A CELEBRATION OF MY MOTHER'S LIFE (JULY 14TH)

 A CELEBRATION OF MY MOTHER'S LIFE JULY14TH:
remembering her today as I do every day

I will not sit and grieve on this 14th july.
Instead I will celebrate your life.
All the happy memories we shared,
There wasn't many of strife.

You gave me the most wonderful gift,
That was the gift of life.
I have treasured that most preciously
Even when I became a wife.
 You taught me honesty,
How to laugh and how to love.
Those things that come so easily,
As sure as there's stars above.

Life  for you was very hard.
As dad died when I was three.
There were so many things you sacrificed
For those things I thank thee.

You taught me how to play the piano,
How I love music to this day.
It's another gift you gave me,
One I can never repay.

I got married on your birthday,
I know you thought that great.
You took to my dear husband,
Right from the first date.

How you loved my children,
Treat them equally all the same.
How excited you were
When one by one  they came.

It's 17 yrs ago today
That you left me behind.
A mother so wonderful,
A mother oh so kind.

No, I will not grieve for you
But remember all the pleasure you gave.
But I will say a silent prayer,
As I place flowers upon your grave.

  4. Thank you Diane, it seemed a good ideal at the time to get married on mum's birthday, but three days after her passing my husband was told he had a malignant brain tumor and lived just another two months, come August when wedding anniversary comes around plus mum's birthday it's a sad day for me.
    Yvonne.
