A MOTHER'S JEWEL:

A MOTHER'S JEWEL:
(i wrote this as  the opening poem
of my book "Written From The Heart".

You are the pearl within the oyster,
The stars  that shine by night.
You have shared with me  some dark days
You have helped me through my plight.

To me you're a jewel that's priceless,
One with a heart of gold.
You have warmed the very soul of mine,
When my life  was very cold.

Thank you my dear daughter,
You're a treasure beyound compare.
Should you need me anytime,
It goes without saying I'll be there.

My burden you have lightened,
You're a special kind of girl.
As I have already mentioned,
You're my jewel, you're my pearl.

PS:  Sadly I am not in her life anymore,
But she's still within my heart.
I'm still at a loss to know
Why we had to part.

  2. That is a precious poem. Even though you're not in your daughter's life, keeping her in your heart is the best thing any mother can do.

P.S. I love the new look for your blog! The red backgrounds make it colorful and pretty. :)

  3. The message in you poem is made more poignant by your separation. Maybe the future will knit you back together. There is always hope for that.
