TOO MUCH WATER HAS FLOWED BENEATH THE BRIDGE:

TOO MUCH WATER HAS FLOWED
BENEATH THE BRIDGE:
(Written after a breakup of a relationship)

Too much water has flowed beneath the bridge
To put many wrongs right.
I should have seen it coming sooner,
I should have seen the light.

Too much water have has flowed beneath the bridge,
It's caused havoc and a high flood.
Neither of us were happy,
If I could repair things I would.

Too much water has flowed beneath the bridge,
Who knows? perhaps it was too much rain.
If only I could turn the clock back,
Not to have gone through all that heartache and pain.

Too much water has flowed beneath the bridge,
Everything happens for a reason.
Whatever reason it happened to be.
I've certainly learned my lesson.

  2. It appears to be very much a point of no return. Pity! Well penned Yvonne but sad!

    1. We split up last Novemeber after seven and a half years. I have moved on, you see he was not "The English Gent" he appeared to be when we met.

  5. Lovely way to share your life with another beautiful poem. It would be nice if the waters always flowed smoothly. Unfortunately, they seldom do. God bless and love you. And I like to think that things usually turn out for the better, though it's hard to accept at times.

    1. Let's just say I made a big mistake but as Alex says "I won't walk over that bridge again". Thanks for a lovely comment and passing by.
