THE FULL MOON OVER BOURNEMOUTH (UK)

THE FULL MOON OVER BOURNEMOUTH (UK)
One night last week
Sleep would not come with ease.
So I arose from my bed
And pulled back the curtains to take a peep.

There in all it's glory,
Was a magnificent full moon.
I stood there for ages
Humming a favourite tune.

I gazed at this awesome sight,
Thoughts and problems went through my mind.
Suddenly I was relaxed and calm,
A few answers I did find.

As I continued to gaze,
My thoughts went on to other things.
Taking the grandchildren to the park
Me going down the slide,
Kids on the swings.

I must have stood there
For quite some time.
Lost in a world of my own,
Suddenly I heard the church clock chime.

I bade farewell to this wonderful full moon,
Back to bed I did go.
Fell fitfully sound asleep,
After my midnight "Show".

  7. Wonderful hour and a wonderful time. It is not everyday one can be presented with a memorable event. Congratulations to you Yvonne and congratulations to Bournemouth. Hank is talking of the AFC Bournemouth. Yes, the Cherries are in the EPL. They've been promoted into top flight football for the first time in the club's 125-year history. They rose from the 4th-tiered League Two into the Premier League after 7 years. Isn't that amazing! Apparently for their debut they are taking on Aston Villa this week-end in a home game! Wishing your home side every success, Ma'am!

    1. Hank, thanks for your wonderful comment, especially about "The Cherries". My youngest son who now lives in Spain played professional football for them many years ago. He had his ankle smashed up so had to give up playing, hence his move to Spain.
