ELVIS STILL LIVES ON:

ELVIS STILL LIVES ON:
(as I have not been up to much of late
I thought I would post this poem
from my last book "Moments of my Life"

Yesterday it was the anniversary since Elvis left us,
The music world a poorer place.
He appeared on the scene in the late fifties,
Someone like him hard to replace.

He lived at "Heartbreak Hotel"
Wearing his "Blues suede Shoes.
All he wamted to be your "Teddy Bear",
Not singing about "Memphis Blues".

His "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You"
Was another hit  if  "Are You Lonesome Tonight".
I was lucky enough to visit Gracelands,
What an aewsome sight?

"Viva Las Vegas" was another place I did go.
His song s played continually,
A particular song I loved him to sing
Was "The American Trilogy"

Elvis will live on forever,
I stood by his grave and openly wept.
The memories still alive in my heart,
All is albums I have kept.

  3. There can never be another Elvis. It was perfection by way of songs, fashion-sense, gyrations and good looks.

  5. Elvis, my favorite. I visited Graceland years ago and bought some souvenirs. Still have the T-shirt. I have a lot of his CDs too and a mousepad. He is missed. Love your poem.
