THE CHILDREN OF HOPE:

ANOTHER CHARITY POEM I DID FOR DANIEL:

THE CHILDREN OF HOPE:
Life for the Romanian children
Looked so helpless,hopeless and bleak.
Until someone spoke to Daniel,
And he went off to seek.

To seek those grief stricken children,
Whose only abode was a mental home.
How they all gathered around him,
When he finally come.

His heart went out to the children,
He decided things had to be done.
So he made a top hit record,
With the proceeds to them and him none.

With appeals at his many concerts,
The money soon began to roll in.
Which was used to build accommodation
For some of them to live in.

They are taught to buy the fundamental
Things which they all need in life.
No longer do these few children,
Live in squalor and strife.

I'm afraid this story has no ending,
There is much fund raising to come.
As there are still 500 children there,
Before the doors shut on that mental home.

  3. Daniel sounds like a remarkable man. You're remarkable yourself, Yvonne. There are still so many homeless children in the world, with all kinds of problems. Every time I see them on the news, their poor little faces not understanding, it makes me cry. So sad.
