STARRY STARRY NIGHT:

STARRY STARRY NIGHT:

I awoken in the early hours,
My throat was very dry.
I made my way to the kitchen
Yawning, so tired was I.

I was getting a glass of water,
Standing by the kitchen sink.
I looked out of the window,
Waiting for my drink/

It was then I observed
The most beautiful sky.
Alight with so many stars,
I could only stand and sigh.

I've never seen so many stars,
Perhaps it was because of the chilly weaather,
The whole Heavens was ablaze with them
I just looked in wonder.

There was just one star,
Twinkling "On and going out"
Was that "My Special Star"
That the song "Look for a star" was all about.?

Was that star telling me
"Everything will be fine?"
I like to think it was
As I glanced at the time.

It was a lovely vision,
My Starry Starry Night.
I had one more peep, before I went to sleep,
After turning out the light.

  1. The night sky can be so beautiful! I saw a program about winter in Antarctica. It's perpetual night for several months, but the night sky is so incredibly beautiful with all the stars and the aurora borealis.

  4. I found your blog through klahanie's blog, it was the picture of the cat which interested me. :)

A clear starry sky can be wonderful. I camp a lot and there's something rather magical about being in a quiet field with no light pollution and all the stars twinkling away above.

  6. I love a night when stars fill the sky. They're so beautiful. I often wonder if they have a story to tell. My first publication was a poem about stars. My 8th grade teacher sent it to a contest and it was published in a high school anthology. I have a copy of the book. Will treasure it always. Thanks for the reminder.
