TWO INTERESTING LETTERS THIS WEEK:

TWO INTERESTING LETTERS THIS WEEK:
The first the mailman delivered to my door,
Was a belated Christmas card.
It was from my son John in Spain.
Why it was late to explain is quite hard.

You see he posted it early December,
To avoid the Christmas mail.
He thought it would get here in time,
But alas it did fail.

Better late than never,
As the old adage say.
It was certainly good to recieve it.
Way past Christmas Day.

The second letter of interest
Was a written postcard from Danny Boy.

Rcieving that from Ireland,
Filled my heart with joy.

He said he had tried to phone me,
But the number didn't ring through.
He went on to say I can use a photo of us,
For my fourth book which I hope to complete soon.

It was lovely to hear from him,
As he's about to go away.
Did you have any interesting letters
This New Year come your way?

  2. Now that is a long time for a letter to arrive. It must've traveled around the globe first!

    1. I feel robbed of a phone calle from him as he couldn't get my number, still he wrote and that lifted me up for the day as did my son's Christmas Card although late.
      Enjoy your week-end.

  6. Just love to hear goodness of people in maintaining a relationship. May not necessarily be a long letter but just a line is itself a great gesture. Keep at it Yvonne!

  11. I don't get all that much mail, but I'm always pleased when I do. I received a surprising Facebook email this morning from a childhood friend and that was pretty surprising.

That card from Daniel is one you'll have to save and cherish. I'm sure you will!

  12. Those cards surely brightened your Christmas, even late. The mail is not always dependable; neither are phone calls. All turned out well, it seems. Looking forward to your new book.

  13. Hi Yvonne,

That's most encouraging you received those two letters. Sorry about the phone call situation with Danny Boy.

I never get letters these days. My phone can go weeks without ringing. Never mind, if my phone does ring, it's probably a scammer.

A peaceful year ahead to you, Yvonne.

    1. Hi Gary, lovely to hear from you as always.
I can relate to you never getting any phone calls....it's a silent world in that direction but can always find something to say on line.
      Yvonne.
