THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT:

THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT:

In the early hours of this morning,
I awoken from my sleep.
I needed to use the bathroom,
So across the bedroom I did creep.

I crept because I have a noisey floorboard,
That awkens the man in the apartment below.
Having arrived at the bathroom,
Without the usual floorshow.

I didn't put the light on,
As I thought I knew the layout quite well.
I prepared to sit on the toilet,
This to you I tell.

Well I misjudge where the toilet was,
And bumped down with a bang on the floor.
My poor backside ,
I think is bruised for ever more.

"What The Heck Is Going On?"
Boomed the man below.
"Some Of Us Have To work Tomorrow
As If You Didn't know".

That made me giggle evenmore,
You see many the night I have lain awake,
And have heard his
Rythmic snore.

As I don't have eyes in my backside,
I can't see the injured sight.
But to be sure next time I use the bathroom
At night, I'll remember to switch on the light.

  1. Sorry to laugh at your mishap, but a slapstick fall is always a bit funny. Add to that your cranky neighbor and you've got a humorous tale told in verse. This was a gem.

  4. Your downstairs neighbor sounds rather rude. He should have asked if you were all right. I never turn the light on at night to use the bathroom either.

  8. Sorry about your bruise. But I bet it was kind of funny to turn the tables on the guy whose snoring normally keeps you up.

    1. Thanks Sherry, he is the sort of person who totally ignores people....except when there is some sort of noise.
