MOTHER'S DAY:

MOTHER'S DAY:
On Sunday it's Mother;s Day
Here in the UK.
I know it is celebrated in the US,
Sometime in May.

Although I have three children,
I know from them I won't hear.
For two are estranged to me,
Which has caused many a lonely tear.

My youngest son in Spain,
His card always arrives after the event.
But it's lovely to know he thought of me,
With words of love he do send.

I never missed my mother,
When she was here with us.
She was a wonderful mother,
Nothing was too much fuss.

So I will spend a lonely Mother's Day,
Somehow I will cope.
But after all is done and said,
I still hold that one word.....hope.

  4. That's a good reminder that I need to send my mom a hug. I think we sometimes forget moms are human.

  7. A late Happy Mother's Day to you, Yvonne. Maybe one day your children will remember how you cared for them and still love them. Then perhaps they'll realize what a wonderful mother you are. I pray for you and them.
