BRITAINS NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE:
YESTERDAY'S EXPERIENCE:
I ordered a cab for 1pm.
To take me to the hospital at Poole.
It is some considerable distance away,
But I felt oh so cool/
It cost me £20 sterling to get there,
Once there I booked in at reception.
I got some peculiar looks.
As they proceeded to mention.
It seems the Epilepsy clinic had been cancelled.
A letter had been sent in May.
Telling me to attend on June 8th
I didn't recieve it....no way.
The consultant it appears was none to pleased,
At my not turning up that day.
The adviser was not sure if he will see me at all,
Is all that she could say.
I left the hospital by cab again,
Another £20 sterling to pay.
I , on the way back home
Stopped at the surgery.
They didn't get a letter from the hospital,
Changing the appointment day.
They are as confused as I am.
I'm fed up with this day after day.
I think I will contact my MP.
As to ask what is happening to the NHS.
I don't know what's going on,
And neither can anyone else I guess.

I'm sorry for your stress. That wasn't right of them not to properly notify you that your appointment was rescheduled. The fact they could so that without letting you know first is also not right. I hope you get this situated.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chrys, I feel let doown by "Brirish Justice"
DeleteI will get it sorted.
Yvonne.
Sounds like a real mess!
ReplyDeleteYou're right there Sherry, I was hoping to get new medication so I could eventually go to Spain to see my son.

This kind of incompetence can be so frustrating, but I'm afraid it's often the norm with many places I encounter. Sorry you had to deal with this inconvenience. Sometimes it seems like no one knows what's really going on.

Tossing It Out
I used to work with the elderly when my kids were small and I saw how they were treated by the health authorities after a person retires.,,,,well this person is not going to stand for it. Thanks for your comment Lee, much appreciated.

That is just crappy. The advisor might not see you at all? Sorry, I know our healthcare is also messed up, but they can't refuse to see us like that here. We are paying, so we call the shots on the appointments. They better get it sorted out.
ReplyDeleteHere we pay into a scheme whilst we are working and it includes free treatment for all. But I maintain that after a person gets past retirementy age the Health Service classes you as a liabitiy on cost and time.......well they won't get away with it ,I SHALL COMPLAIN to whoever will listen. Thanks Alex for your comment, I do appreciate it.

As long as it is within one's rights it is all game. Putting them on the defensive but without malice or harsh words should get them off their butts. Good luck Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteHank
Thanks Hank for advice and wise words.

That's awful. I hope you get everything cleared up soon. Don't let them treat you that way. Maybe you can find the right person(s) to help you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI still believe once one gets past retirement age the health service classes you as a burden on money and time consuming. Thanks Beverly for your support and comment.
