I'VE GOTTA BE ME:

I'VE GOTTA BE ME!
(Dedicated to my three children:)
I'm not the sort of person,
Who possess to be what I'm not.
What you see is what you get.
Right down to the smallest dot.

I was reared to be honest,
To my ownself to be true.
The same virtues my dear kids,
That was instilled in you.

I was also taught to respect others,
Then, I thought you knew that too.
But it appears my "Wonderful Kids"
What's gone wrong for you?

You were never short of love,
From the day that you were born.
Dad and I made sure all was well.
So why do you act so forlorn?

I may have lost some weight,
But my heart has the same abundance of love,
That is something that has not changed,
As sure as stars above.

I am my own person,
Mistakes I've made along the way.
But I never ignored my dearest mum,
Right til her dying day.

If you can't accept me
For the person that I am.
Well that's your decsion.
But I am still here if you get in a jam.

I love fun and laughter,
As you see from the picture above.
But on a more serious note.
I have this unconditional love.

Something you don't yet understand,
Sad to say but true.
I've gotta be me  is my message.
With love from me to you.
