OH WHAT A NIGHT:

WHAT A NIGHT!!
As we 're experiencing unusal weather,
It's getting unbearably hot.
I was perspiring from head to toe.
Like it? I decidedly did not.

Watching TV last evening,
My clothes were soaking wet.
Had many glasses of water,
As much as I could get.

But worse was yet to come,
When I retired for the night.
Sleep would not come at all,
Oh what a dreadful plight.

I had a shower at 3am.
Trying to cool myself down.
I looked in the mirror, oh what a fright!
My face wearing a tired frown.

I listened to some music,
Also played a relaxation DVD.
By 5 am I'd had enough,
So arose and went for a walk by the sea.

Now I'm feeling tired,
It's still hot I declare.
Going out to buy some bottled water,
Anyone want to share?

  1. That's why I'm grateful we have air conditioning here. I can't sleep when it's hot either.

    1. We're not used to it over here, I lived in Spain but managed to cope with the hot weather.

  6. Your weather sounds like Texas summers. Hot, hot, hot. Thankfully, we have air conditioning. I remember when I was a kid, years ago, we used fans, since there was no air conditioning. Fans just blew the hot air around the room. Hope you have a cooler day and night.
