HAPPY SEPTEMBER....ONE DAY LATE:

 HAPPY SEPTEMEBER .....ONE DAY LATE:
I took a day off yesterday,
To gather my thoughts together.
I wasn't feeling all that grand,
Unlike our hot sunny weather.

The trials and tribulations of life,
Are certainly getting me down.
No family to support me.
But I refuse to wear a frown.

I put things into perspective,
Sure, my kids have lives of their own.
But all the same it would be great
Once in a while to recieve a call on the phone.

Then in the afternoon
The mailman made his call.
That cheered me no end.
And made me feel ten feet tall.

My Daniel O Donnell fan club bulletin arrived,
So thought I could catch up on his life.
Now he's back on touring,
After having quality time with his wife.

Then another letter caught my eye.

It was addressed to me.
All the way from Dublin.
From the man himself DOD.

He thanked me for my latest book,
Said to me "Well Done".
Thenk you and God Bless,
Hope to see you soon.

Some of the proceeds of the book,
Are going to a chairty of his choice.
He wrote and informed of the said charity.
To give less fortunate people a chance to rejoice.

So what started out ,
A day of utter despair.
I went to bed last night,
"Floating on air".

HAPPY SEPTEMBER:

  1. How wonderful that you got a letter from Daniel himself, I bet that really made your day and you'll treasure it for years to come :)

A while ago I found a book in the animal sanctuary shop written by an author whose series of books I've already got; I started reading it a few days ago and found it was a signed copy. Having now researched the author it seems he passed away from cancer three years ago, so even though the book isn't signed to me personally it seems very special.

  2. Happy for you Yvonne! There will always be that light that shines bright despite the darkness around. It has a way of rewarding those with good intentions to be just as happy in giving as those receiving!
