SILENT NIGHT:

As we're just two weeks from Christmas Day
I thought I would share this poem I wrote many
years ago which was in my first book
"NEGATIVE V. POSITIVE:

SILENT NIGHT:
At Christmas time our hearts,
Look back to yesteryears.
Thinking of our loved ones,
The ones who are not here.

But it's also a time of hope,
For on that Silent Night,
God gave His Beloved Son,
To help us see the light.

A light that would brighten the world.
To let all wars cease to be.
That future generations,
Can live in harmony.

Let's join our hands together,
Let our voices sing as one.
Let's not forget that silent night,
When hope for the world begun.

  7. Still relevant today just as much. History repeats itself or rather takes time to change! Thoughtful thoughts Yvonne!

  9. A beautiful poem, Yvonne. And a gentle reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. Our pastor's sermon yesterday was What if there were no Christmas. It would be a sad, sad world. Thank heaven, we have Christmas. Have a good week.
