THE MIRROR:
Is the mirror a friend of yours?
Showing your beauty and charm.
Or is it very unfriendly,
Giving you cause for alarm?
Yesterday I had a shock,
A shock beyond compare.
For whilst looking in the mirror
Arranging my untidy hair.
It was then I notice IT.
More crows feet and tramlines on my face.
Showing the age of life,
That one cannot erase.
I felt really dejected.
What does people think of me.
I'm not being vain folk.
But the mirror dosen't lie you see.
So for the day I adorned the mirror
With a cover like above.
Until I can look at myself.
And be someone I love.

The mirror can lie a bit, reflections can be tweaked.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could be right Pat.

I just tend to ignore what I see in the mirror...
ReplyDeleteThe sensible thing to do if one wants to keep a perspective on life. Thanks for the comment Alex. Happy Sunday.

ReplyDeletePerhaps I ought to do the same. Thanks for coming by.
DeleteMuch appreciated.
Yvonne.
I just take off my glasses. That is the key to not seeing what I don't want to see. Or better yet- smile.
ReplyDeleteHa yes! that word smile does the trick.
DeleteThanks for a most helpful comment.
Yvonne.

A mirror is certainly a friend. It is the first instance before anyone else is given the privilege. The bastion of the first line of defense to help out.Very much so Yvonne!
