WHERE HAVE ALL THE CATS GONE?

WHERE HAVE ALL THE CATS GONE?
When I moved here ,
Nigh on two years ago.
Many cats roamed the neighbourhood,
I did enjoy watching them so.

The many pigeons in the area,
They indeed did chase.
As they roamed the street.
In no particular haste.

But as of late where are they?
Maybe one black cat or even two.
The others seemed to have vanished.
Completely out of view.

One elderly gent,
A few doors away from me.
Had his cat stolen a while back,
A ransome note he did recieve.

He couldn't afford the
Five hundred pounds asked,
So his cat has vanished,
Without a track.

I do so miss the cats,
From my window I did see.
I pray nothing untoward happened to them.
For they filled my heart with glee.

  1. Sometimes they may have been chased off with threats. Or physically they could have been harmed. Hopefully nothing untoward happened and they should be back!

  2. Such people who would ransom a pet need to go play in the street and get hit by a bus.

  3. That is horrible to have your cat stolen and then ask for ransom. Cats do tend to wander to find food. That is why I have so many. They all came to my house looking for food and they found it.

  5. Scary to have a pet stolen and sad. Have to be careful in TX. Bobcats roam sometimes and will pounce on smaller creatures. Rough nature.

  6. Such a shame the cats have all gone - I hope they've just wandered off to somewhere else and nothing really bad has happened to them.

I had one of mine abducted several years ago by someone living nearby, I had to threaten them with legal action to get her back. I used to have sixteen at one time, most of them strays I'd taken in, I'm down to three now and that's how it's staying :)

  7. This poem reminded me to appreciate the cats in my backyard more, (the reasons I don't have ant gophers)
    Thank you
    (they are cute too)

  8. Oh no! How horrible. Taking someone's cat and holding it for ransom? That is mean and cruel.

  9. That's so sad that people will kidnap cats and ask for ransom. I hope the cats are all safe. So much can happen to them in the wild, the reason I keep my kitties inside, except when I go outside with them. Yeah, I treat them like little children. :)

    1. I agree Beverly cats and dogs.... well all pets deserve the besty deal in life.
I had to take my cat out on a leash as she was diabetic and needed insulin shots twice a day. She was like that for the last four years of her life. But I loved her dearly.
