HERE AT THE GRAND OLE OPRY:

HERE AT THE GRAND OLE OPRY:

I went to Nashville TN.
Some years ago.
To Daniel at the Ryman Auditorium,
How I enjoyed it so.

We stayed at "The Gaylords Hotel".
An excellent place to stay.
I would dearly love to return there,
Despite it being a long, long way.

We visited "The Grand Ole Opry".
Where the tourists were shown around.
The "Green Room" was shown to us,
Also dressing rooms of the renown.

We then stood "Centre Stage".
Where so many famous people have stood.
Then the guide told us to sing a song,
Just as if we would?

Eventually he persuaded us,
To sing "You Are My Sunshine".
To think we sang at "The Grand Ole Opry"
Did our hearts just fine.

It was a lovely day.
Full of memories I recall.
Singing on "Centre Stage",
We certainly had a ball.

    1. I fell in love with Nahville Alex, although all of the places I have visited in the US are great. I hope also I shall travel again.

  6. We've been through Nashville but never saw any of the sights. (Stayed in Memphis and Knoxville and there we did see the sights.) That's wonderful you got your picture taken.

  8. I remember this poem. I usually go to Nashville once or twice a year to visit my brother, but I'm only there for a couple hours each visit. Never been to see the Grand Ole Opry and don't know if I ever will, but it would be nice.

    1. I thought you would remember the poem seeing I sent you and Alex the book. It was really a milestone going to the home of country music.

      Yvonne.
