My Theme this year is RYHTHM AND RHYME:
Which consists of a song and a poem:
Hope you enjoy:
is for STREETS OF LONDON
by
RALPH MCTELL:
Whenever I hear this song
I get an "Attitude of Gratitude".
For I have a roof over my head,
Also in the cupboard plenty of food.
I also have at night,
A most comfortable bed.
So when I feel the need.
I can lay my weary head.
I appreciate the lyrics,
Could pertain to the Universe.
There are so many homeles, lonely people,
As I write this "Challenge Verse".
I am so very grateful
For the life I live.
I may have a "Lonely" existance,
But I have so much love to give.
Beautiful number! very evocative, and for me it brought to mind the refugees from Syria and Iraq...
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Nilanjana.

So many live without basics such as clean water and healthy food. Most of us are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you whole heartedly Diana.

Another one of my favourites - I used to sing it when I was learning to play the guitar at the age of 16.
ReplyDeleteDo you still play the guitar? Thanks for the comment Tigermouse.

I still have my original guitar somewhere Yvonne but I haven't played for years.
DeleteI thought perhaps you may play outside your tent or caravan on site on a lovely summer's night.

Ralph McTell has a beautiful voice! Thanks for the introduction. Loved your poem as well, Yvonne. Gratitude leads to more happiness in life, I believe. No matter what, there is always someone worse off than we are. Have a good weekend! ☺
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie for a great comment. It is much appreciated,

I am so very grateful
ReplyDeleteFor the life I live.
The richness of existence can vary. But being grateful for what one has is the most noble thing. Rightly so Yvonne!
Hank
Well despite pain and problems there are people worse off than me.
DeleteThanks for your wonderful comment.
Yvonne.
