JELLY:
I am the humble jelly,
Which is loved by many of you.
My flavours are orange and strawberry,
Just to name a few.
First I have boiling water
Poured over me, "Ouch" says I.
The water really hurts me.
How I want to cry.
Then to add insult to injury,
I'm put in the ice box to set.
I'd rather be inside the packaging,
Now I begin to fret.
I'm left there for some hours.
Until it's time for tea.
Adored by the children.
Who jump up and down with glee.
By now I'm all stressed out.
With the proceedures of the day.
That's why I wobble about.
And begin to sway.
Next time you see a jelly,
And it's not looking merry.
We'd much prefer to be in a trifle,
Made with lashings of sherry.

As long as no one ruins it by putting carrots in it. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Alex.
DeleteInteresting but not very nice "Carrots".
Yvonne.
Not too much Sherry. Jello shots are painful the next morning.
ReplyDeleteQuite right Diane. Thanks for comment.

I'm probably outing myself as a horrible nerd, but the opening line "I am the humble jelly" made me read this entire thing as if it was being told by a slime monster from Dragon Quest. XD
ReplyDeleteThank you Robert for comment.
