ISWG: JULY 2017:

 ISWG: JULY 2017:
HAPPY JULY EVERYONE:
FROM INSECURITY TO........ INTO PERSPECTIVE:
I've been a little insecure of late
Personal issues to name a few.
But I had a rude awakening yesterday,
About that I will relate to you.

I've been nursing a swollen foot,
Painful to say the least.
Looking at my foot now and then
Calling it the "Awful Beast".

I've also been by passing the mirror,
As a stranger looks back at me.
The lines of age are there alright
For everyone to see.

On inpulse yesterday I wrote a poem,
To someone I haven't seen in years.
Their reply shook me terribly,
Had me reduced to tears.

This person has undergone surgery,
For "The Big C"
Immediately I thought of my plight,
In comparrison needlessly.

So what if I've a swollen foot,
It may match my swollen head.?
So what if there are more lines on my face,
Each day as I arise from my bed ?

Too much self pity has taken place,
It goes with living on one's own.
But putting things into perspective,
In future these  two issues won't get me down.

  3. We think we have it bad until we see someone who has it worse.

  4. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. And you are so right. What looms as a large issue for us pales when we see what other people are dealing with.
Hope that foot is better soon.

  6. You make some excellent points. Our struggles may seem hard, but there is far worse out there. I have to remind myself constantly. I hope your friend wins the battle. Many do with the big C.

  7. That quote is so true. Our own problems may seem so huge, but once we see what others are going through, we can finally realize that our problems aren't so bad and we have just what we need to defeat them.
