SLEEPLESS IN BOURNEMOUTH:

SLEEPLESS IN BOURNEMOUTH:
At present I am going through a sleepless stage,
Everything going around in my mind.
Everything from how to  go out,
To problems of every shape and form of some kind.

I look at the moonlit sky,
More times a night than I should.
Saw a sly fox on the prowl.
I bet he was up to no good.

I make many trips to the kitchen,
A drink of water I may need.
Or just to wander around the apartment,
To help me to sleep with more speed.

Yes ! being sleepless here in Bournemouth,
Is not a good thing to be sure.
But being sleepless anywhere,
Can almost certainly be a bore.

I could take the sleeping pills,
That the doctor gave me.
But they produce unpleasant side effects.
So I guess "Sleepless In Bournemouth" I'll be.

Untill I can sort myself and life out.
Loneliness and family are key factors.
My laptop is my best friend at present,
My blogging follwers very kind reactors.

Have you ever suffered from sleeplessness?
Caused by problems or an exciting event.
How lovely it is, when you go to bed
Sleep comes quickly....now that's heaven sent.

  4. I'm sure the warmth of summer doesn't help either. I don't sleep well during the summer.

    1. Perhaps you're right Alex, being hot does keep you awake than you start thinking about things that should wait until the morning. ....a vicious circle.

  7. Usually worry about one of my children will keep me up. Most of the time I got to sleep easily. I read some research that says if you lay still for 15 minutes, you will fall asleep no matter how tired you are. Not sure that works for everyone but if I lie still, I'm out like a light.

  9. Sometimes I have trouble going to sleep. Too many thoughts are rushing through my brain. I need to do this; I need to do that, but really those things can wait, I tell myself, though it seldom helps. The nights I fall to sleep at once are priceless. Hope you find sleep easily this week.

    1. As I write last night was not too bad, Doctor says and I quote "Go on You Tube and get a self help video to watch "
I have many self help books s o found his advice insulting.

  10. Worry and problems can cause sleeplessness. Try going outside for walks and getting fresh air. That might help.

  11. Hi Yvonne,

Sleepless in Leek, Staffordshire, here. What you wrote could well have been written by me. I can so relate as I type this at almost three in the morning.

I wish for you some decent, trouble free sleep, my kind friend.
