THE FOUR SEASONS:

As we are in the grips of winter ,
I thought I would look forward
to the other seasons.
THE FOUR SEASONS:
The earth is goverened
By the seasons four.
All have their particular beauty
Who could ask for more.

In winter the warmth of a log fire.
While outside the snow lies on the ground.
The snowflakes as they fall from the heavens,
Making not a solitary sound.

With the onset of spring,
The world is a delight.
As Mother Nature re-awakens
From winter's dark nights.

Bulbs and flowers all in bloom,
The trees with leaves are again all dressed.
With the singing of the birds,
As they make new nests.

Summer arrives with days by the sea.
The children with buckets and spades in hand.
As they merrily sing and shout to each other,
As they play once more on the sand

Walks in the park or along the river.
To feed the ducks and swans.
It's a pleasure I particularly like,
Of which I'm very fond.

Then comes the fall,
Leaves cascade to the ground.
The trees once more bare.
The birds migrate without making a sound.

Yes, our changing world is a wonderful place.
Full of wonder and awe.
We are but a dot on the landscape,
Everyone IMPORTANT, yet so small.

  5. What a lovely, lovely poem and a wonderful reminder. The seasons do each have their beauty and purpose. Like us humans, the earth needs to rest at times. Then the earth springs to life, with new flowers and baby animals, for us to enjoy. Have a restful weekend, Yvonne.
