MY STREET: {IN THE LAST FEW DAYS}

MY STREET
(IN THE PAST FEW DAYS)

On Thursday I was going shopping,
After feeding Tennessee.
I let him out on my way,
Leaving a "Flabbergasted" me.

The street was filled with police,
The street closed I declare.
I wondered what was happening.
A sense of mystery filled the air.

A policeman approached me,
Asked "Do you reside here?"
Feeling very apprehensive.
In my stomach I felt fear.

Apparently there had been a stabbing
In a house opposite me.
Injuries very serious,
I just wanted to flee.

I was given some advice,
From the said policeman.
"At your age  don't go out alone"
As he lifted for me the street ban.

It was on the local TV news.
There was also another incident closeby.
Needless to say I've remained indoors.
Missing the wonderful sunny blue sky.

I hope the weekend will be better.
For you likewise myself.
I hope to go for a much needed walk.
Not left on the proverbial shelf.

  1. Greetings Louise. So sorry someone was seriously hurt - and so close to where you live! Sorry you had to stay in as well. I hope you get to enjoy our gloriously sunny weather by going out for a few walks. A well-written poetic-piece. Blessings to you.

    Thank you. Love love, Andrew.

  3. wow - that's scary. And yet, you can't hide in fear. Just be aware of surroundings. You still need to shop and get fresh air, enjoy your beach. Take care

    1. It;s not good to have to stay indoors, it is a "Public Holiday" this weekend and the temperatures are at their highest.

      Yvonne.
