TENNESSEE'S SECRET:

TENNESSEE'S SECRET:

As some of you are aware,
I've been feeding this stray cat.
Have had him in my home ,
And thought that was that.

He has been a great comfort to me,
Through good times and the bad.
Have had plenty of cuddles.
Of which I have been extremly glad.

Yesterday however something
I found  out.
As I was walking home from my walk.
I saw Tennessee without a doubt.

He was sat in the window.
Of a house further down the street.
Spoke to a lady in the garden,
As she held her hand out to greet.
 /
I enquired was that her cat.?
Her reply came as a shock.
Appears she's had him as a kitten.
I listened taking stock.

She said he was a wanderer,
Go away for days on end.
I had to smile to myself.
Trying to comprehend.

So you see my dear friends.
It was me who was "Taken In".
But in the nicest possible way.
Was Tennessee's secret such a sin?

  1. Did you tell her he comes to visit you? I'm sure it would be a comfort to her to know someone good was looking after him.

  2. No Alex, but putting it the way you have I think I will tell her.
Never thought of it that way.

  3. Greetings Yvonne. Taking in the positives, he's got a loving home, and you're not allowed pets at your complex! And he's also got a second loving home with you and your liking for him. You should tell the Lady he comes to visit you, she'll probably take comfort in he's being looked after while away to stray! A well written piece. Well done. Blessings to you. Love love, Andrew.

  7. This is priceless, Yvonne. You know what I think. Tennessee knows you need company and so he became your friend. I truly believe cats can sense our emotions and tell when we're sad or happy or just need a welcoming meow. I know my cats sometimes will crawl in my lap or in bed beside me when I've had a bad day, and their presence and love cheers me up. It seems Tennessee has two homes he loves.

    1. I too think that animals can sense things. My cat I had before I was widowed used to go into the school nearby and join in morning assembly.
      Thanks for your lovely comment.
      Yvonne.
