LIGHT AT THE END OF A TUNNEL:
=======================
Today we commence the last week in March.
A week I see a glimmer of hope.
These past six weeks have been pure hell.
I feel at last I can cope.

You see a doctor refused me
My Epilepsy medication.
Said "I had not been diagnosed".
Much to my consternation.

I have been treated for the illness,
For thirty two years no less.
It has always "Lived" with me.
And not the other way round I confess.

Well I was four weeks without any medication,
Body shaking and many more seizures occurred.
I phoned the doctor's surgery.
For a visit....but they didn't want me to be heard.

I WAS rude to the receptionist,
The doctors reported me to "Primary Care".
I was allocated to another doctor some way away.
As a punishment I declare.

This doctor turned out to be a "Guardian Angel".
Who took time to read my notes.
Saw I was indeed diagnosed many years ago,
And reinstated my medication I quote.

He said I should not have endured
Such terrible treatment by my other surgery.
Is coming out today to visit me.
Giving me shots for arthitic shoulders so I will be pain free..

So on this sunny Monday morning,
A glimmer of light I see.
I stared adversary face to face with dignity,
And today feel a happier more confident me.

  1. What a terrible ordeal for you and absolutely unnecessary. I'm glad they finally are doing right. The doctor that wouldn't treat you should be punished somehow. (In my opinion)May your life be filled with sunshine and pain free from now on. God bless.

  3. You should be able to report that terrible, unfeeling doctor. I wonder how many other patients are suffering in his care, but I'm glad you've found a good one.

  8. Cyberhugs and cheers to you, dear Yvonne! That awful physician should not be allowed to practice and I'm so glad you took the initiative to go elsewhere. As a fellow epileptic, I know the very last thing we need is dispassion. Hang in there and keep writing those delightful poems ;-)

  13. Most deplorable for a doctor to react in a negative and unprofessional way. Glad there are the human ones in the crowd who understand. Just horrible to be in pain!
