SOLITUDE:

SOLITUDE:
As another week begins once again,
I wonder if this forced solitude.
Will leave my life and set me free.
No more in my life a family fued.

I never for once envisaged my life,
To be so all alone.
Only the shop cashiers to brighten my day.
No one to converse with on the phone.

Yet ! in all my solitude.
I have learned many aspect sof life.
Have gone down many avenues.
As my days are filled with strife.

The closeness of the beach,
My footprints in the sand.
I pour my heart and soul to myself,
There is no-one to hold my hand.

So with HOPE I begin yet another week,
Perhaps a letter or a phone call.
Perhaps my family will remember their mum.
Who is certainly not having a ball.

  2. I know the feeling of being so alone since my husband died even when I am with people. So sorry that your family is ignoring you. It must be so hard. I hope that you can find a group of people where you live to connect with. And it's good that you're working on how to be alone--me too and many others that I know.

    1. Being Epileptic has it’s downside when you’re at a club and get a seizure. Have tried the clubs but all I want is to belong to my family.

  6. This is beautiful, but very sad. You're never really alone, but I can understand how you are feeling. You can overcome it because you have before. Hopefully all will be better soon.

  7. Oh, Yvonne. I wish that I could help. Your words touch my heart. I wish your family would read them. My prayers are with you that they will wake up and "smell the roses" as the old saying goes and realize the beauty of having a mother, when so many people do not. Miracles do happen, and one never knows when. Have faith. More hugs and prayers.

  8. Yvonne, I'm sorry that things are not going well for you. You still have the gift of poetry and I wish that you could find or start a local poetry group to share your gift and your generous spirit with.

    1. Thank you and hello Julie, hope you are well.
I have tried the group scene, but getting Epiletic seizures many people don't feel comfortable in my company.

  9. You have us, your buddies, Yvonne, all available at a click! Imagine those in similar situations but not connected to the social media? You've always been a wonderful lady and a friend (though Hank may have missed some postings!) Apologies for the recent weeks' absence!
