STILL WALKING:

STILL WALKING:
Last Wednesday I stopped my isolation,
And took my first steps outside.
I made it to the bottom of the road,
My happiness I couldn't hide.

Since then I have walked around the block,
Each and every day.
I am gradually looking forward to it.
That's what I'd like to say.

My aim is to get to the hairdressers
In just over four weeks.
So this week will go a few streets futher,
So that hair appointment I will keep.

I didn't realise what a simple walk could do.
So many things one takes for granted .
It's also good for your health,
It certainly gets you panting.

More Lockdown restrictions have been eased
More to come in a few weeks.
I hope all goes according to plan,
As much happiness is what we all seek.

Have a good new week.
May your lives be full of joy,
When I'm not walking around the block,
I'll be listening to Danny Boy.

  6. I am so happy for you now that you're getting outside and taking your walks.I can picture the smile on your face as you bereathe in the fresh ocean air. I hope to start walking again when the temperature drops down below 100. Have a super week.

    1. Thank you Beverly, it is nice to get out again but the government is bringing gloom and doom on the scene again after easing many restrictions. I wish I was politically minded.

Stay safe and well especially in the hot weather.

  7. That's wonderful, Yvonne! It's amazing how suddenly something as simple as a walk was taken away. We do such things without thinking, never imagining that a simple walk would be denied us. Just be careful, my friend. Wear a mask, wash your hands. Things are going in the wrong direction here. I fear it will be a quite a while before I can risk a trip to the hairdresser. Terry promised me an ocean/beach a year when we were first married. This is the first time we won't be able to visit one. I shall think of you walking along the beach ~ enjoy!

    1. I am getting second thoughts about the hairdressers but will wait and see what happens a bit nearer my appointment.
Sorry you have to miss your ocean/beach.
      Take care.

    2. Waiting and seeing what happens is a wise choice, Yvonne. I'm living with a two-tones ponytail ~ LOL
