MOTHER NATURE'S TEARS

MOTHER NATURE'S TEARS:

Towards the end of last winter

It was evident to see.

That life for a while would be different,

During the coming seasons to be.

I was looking forward to spring

For some considerable time.

Many things and places to see.

To numerous to put into rhyme.

Well spring did arrive,

Leaves back on the trees.

Birds singing merrily.

I felt somewhat pleased.

Only I could only view from the inside,

As lockdown was in progress.

Thinking to myself

"Why Oh Why Is the World In This Mess?"

Spring turned into summer,

No walks or travelling done.

Although thousands descended on our beach,

On a hot day having fun.

With Autumn almost over,

And another winter looming ahead.

Another lockdown in progress,

Makes one want to stay in bed.

How must Mother Nature be feeling,

All her hard work same as the norm?

Not many enjoying her beauty

Everyone feeling forlorn.

The leaves once more gone from the trees,

The birds no longer here to sing.

The much evident breeze in the air,

Perhaps things may be different in Spring.

HAVE A GOOD NEW WEEK:

  2. the sun does keep coming up and every so often it does rain. I think Mother Nature is seeking more attention these days with her drastic fires, more hurricanes, etc. She's asking folks to pay attention. Good poem. Hope you are well on a Monday and staying okay with music and walks around the living room. Take care. I'm off to work - sigh

  4. I can relate to your poem. I try to remind myself that hope and a vaccine is on the way and life will be better and less lonely soon.

  5. Life has been virtually the same for a year running and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. One can only hope for better things next year. Keep safe Yvonne!

  7. A vaccine is coming! And perhaps Mother Nature will get more respect and attention in my country ~ Hope on the horizon for the US government! It's going to be better, Yvonne, and we're going to appreciated the ordinary things so much more. Hunker down. Stay safe, my friend. Hugs to you!

  8. All we can do is pray that these horrible days will soon be over and those who are sick will be healthy again and we can visit with family and friends without wearing masks. Take care.

  9. Maybe one day we'll look outside and our world will be beautiful and safe again. To go outside without wearing a mask would be quite a treat. I must go now and get the food for Thanksgiving Day tomorrow. And in spite of the problems in our world, I still have much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to you all,
