WELCOME TO THE PENULTAMATE LETTER
OF THE A TO Z CHALLENGE 2015:
AS USUAL I WILL CHOOSE A SONG TITLE
THEN WRITE MY OWN POEM:
Y
is for
YOUNG AT HEART
RECORDED BY
FRANK SINATRA:
Even if you look like this
One can be young at heart.
If you have inner happiness
You have a head start.
Beauty come from within.
It's very often said.
Just count your blessing each night
Before you retire to bed.
When you arise in the morning,
Be positive about the coming day.
Put a smile on your face
As you go about your way/
No matter what your age be,
Travelling can be still on the cards.
A holiday abroad can be so benifical
Don't think about it being hard.
Should you go to the local park
Why not go down the children's slide?
I do and have in the past,
As I watched my grandchildren "Hide"
I have a birthday on the horizon,
As I turn another page,
Another page in my life
But I won't tell you my age.
I don't care how many lines
Etch my face.
As long as I'm young at heat.
I still belong to the human race.

DeleteYou are still young and vibrant!
ReplyDeleteI try to be Alex, thanks for the visit.
DeleteWell said Yvonne! That cartoon gave me a chuckle. Last night was a very long night....researching into the wee morning hours doing my X post. I think we all need a break!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon for your lovely comment.
DeleteBeautiful poem. It sure speaks to me. The wrinkles may not go away. I try to be young at heart every day. Life's better that way.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Beverly for your kind words and visit.
DeleteHi human, Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteYou youthful resonance, the joys of your inner child, no matter you age, brings forth the wonders, the curiosity that makes you forever young. On the horizon birthday thoughts, your way.
Penny :)
Many thanks Penny for your great comment, Give my love to Gary,
DeleteBeing young at heart makes one think and act like a youngster. The opposite holds true, too! It is a choice with not that much of a choice. One has to think young! Wonderful lines Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteHank
Many thanks for your great comment Hank. Also taking the trouble to visit.
DeleteYvonne.
Young at heart can take one far
ReplyDeleteAmen to that Pat.
DeleteI love the "bags under my eyes" picture quote. I maybe young but I share that sentiment. ;P
ReplyDeleteMy mom has a birthday coming up soon and she's dreading it. I can see she fears getting older, but she is so young and lively and strong and beautiful. Just like you, Yvonne. :)
Thanks Chrys for the the beautiful comment, I don't like birthdays as the only card I get is from my son in Spain. My other two children here in the UK don't want me in theri lives which means my four teenage grandchildren I never see and my only grand daughter's birthday is the same as mine, I do miss being a mum and a grandmother,
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Young at heart you are. You remind me of Bilbo Baggins, trying new things and going on adventures. Nice choice today, as usual!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your great comment Gregg, much appreciated.

I could not agree more. Old is when you can no longer take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Stephen, there are things I am unable to do......only because I don't know how to.
