I HAVE A FIGHT ON MY HANDS:
Yesterday was not a good day,
That I was soon to learn.
For discrimination has reared it's ugly head.
Again it's my turn.
I, for thirty four years have had Epilepsy,
I have led a "Normal Life."
Although these past few years.
Have suffered tears and strife.
I saw a new doctor yesterday,
My medication running low.
He said he wouldn't give me anymore,
Said at my age I shouldn't need it so.
Well when one suffers a seizure
Whilst in or out of doors.
Have I to remain "A prisioner"
Just sat looking at the floor indoors?
I want my life back,
Is that too much to ask?
I am coming up againts discrimination,
Against my age and illness which is a losing task.
So today I will continue,
To set the record straight.
That Epilepsy and age,
Here in the UK the medics love to hate.
I will seek professional advice,
Maybe go public, who knows?
Show the world I am NOT WORTHLESS.
But am a person with a heart from my head to toes.

If it works, stupid how he wouldn't give it to you
ReplyDeleteAge Pat in one word.
DeleteYvonne.
Go to a different doctor. Age should not make any difference.
ReplyDeleteI have had my e\zr glued to the phone all morning,
DeleteAge DOES matter here Alex. Thanks for your support.
Yvonne.
You have the right attitude, Yvonne. You should receive medication and treatment, no matter the age. I've seen some of the discrimination in the US. It seems as we age, they don't want to waste time or money on us. Hang in there. Demand your rights. Prayers for you.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite right Beverly in what you say. cost and time in our later years DOES matter to the health services.
DeleteYvonne.
Oh my word. Can you see a different doctor?
ReplyDeleteIt seems they all stick together Sandra.
DeleteI shall set the wheels in motion to go public via the newspapers and TV. I WANT MY LIFE BACK.
Yvonne.
Good luck. I hope you can find a doctor to make things right for you
ReplyDeleteI will probably "Go Public" as the health service here has deterioated much of late.
DeleteThanks for coming by Joanne.
Yvonne.
Do the needful first, just to cater to your needs. That is material to you. Others that relate to 'deteriorating service'may not seem urgent!
