FRAGILE AS A BUTTERFLY:
(I wrote this for my book
"Written From The Heart")
As fragile as a butterfly,
That's the beat of my heart.
It's been that way
Since we had to part.
As fragile as a butterfly
My confidence took a nose dive.
It took some time to retain it,
Today I feel so alive.
I don't take life or people for granted,
I treat them with respect.
For they too are fragile as butterflies
That's what I've come to accept.
People who thry to make decisions for me
Are way out of their league.
I am what I am,
That's what I believe.
To those who do not know me,
I'm honest and wouldn't hurt a fly.
To myself I'm always true.
Positive but fragile as a butterfly.

Even the strongest of people have something that will make them fragile.

I like people who don't take others for granted, but treat them with respect. They're good ones to know!
ReplyDeleteMy mother always told me to respect others you have to respect yourself, I have found this valuable in my life.
DeleteThanks Lee for your lovely comment.

A beautiful poem, as always, Yvonne. I love butterflies. Watching for the Monarchs that should be passing through soon on their way to Mexico or Southern California. We have a lot of milk weed plants that they like and where they lay their eggs. Hope to see some soon.
ReplyDeleteHello Beverly thanks as always for a wonderful comment. Hope you see your butterflies soon.

I remember this poem and it speaks a truth. I think most of us have our times of fragility and vulnerability. In a negative world it can be difficult to stay positive, but it's best for us if we try to keep a good frame of mind.

Thanks Lee for your wise words, though I am finding it hard to remain positive all the time. Great that you took the trouble to visit.
