AM I WASTING MY TIME?
For quite a few years
I've waited in vain.
To get reunited with my family again.
I still don't know why
This situation I'm in.
They have not given me a reason.
I just can't seem to win.
The photo below was
The last time we were together.
Christmas 2009, since then,
Much stormy weather.
One of my grandsons'
Did phone me the other week.
But his dad has told him to stop.
To me that's a cheek.
The whole family are remembered
Throughout different occasion in the year,
But not a word of thanks from my kids
Of "I love you" and good cheer.
Am I wasting my time,
In thinking about the happy days in the past?
Not a day goes by
Hoping this situation can't last.
My eldest grandson will be 18 yrs
In just a few weeks.
I was hoping by then ,
They would have turned the other cheek.
Am I wasting my time,?
After all is said and done.
They are still my "Wonderful" daughter,
And a "Wonderful" son.
From a much saddened mother and grandmother:

Time is in our hands. It will be open to eventualities. It is therefore a matter of time. Youngsters have a mind of their own. They will want to know each other better. They are young adults ,they'll make a move. Wait and see, Yvonne!

I have been saying that for a while Hank, heart full of hope but still no response. Thanks for your kind words.
DeleteYvonne.
At least when your grandson turns eighteen, he will be an adult and able to contact you when he wants. Don't give up on them.
ReplyDeleteI hope so Alex, though Joshua my grandson seems to do what he's told whatever his age.
DeleteYvonne.
I'm very sorry you are in such a heartbreaking situation.
ReplyDeleteYes Sandra a sad state of affairs, my grandson was borh 18 yrs ago on July 4th, I lost my mother on the 14th then three days later was told my husband had a terminal brain tumour and he too left me in the Sept. It's that time of the year I would like some support from my family.

Hopefully something will change, can't stop on a trying.
ReplyDeleteHopefully is the operative word Pat.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your most welcomed visit.
Yvonne.
Don't give up, Yvonne. I have no answer, no magical words to tell you how to make it better. Keep praying, keep loving them, and one day, maybe they'll wake up and realize family is what it's all about and be thankful they have you. Until that day, keep them in your heart.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverly for your kind and wise words, having no-one to speak to about a problem it is wonderful how my blogging friends come to the rescue.
DeleteHave a great week-end.
Yvonne.
Hi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteYou keep trying because it's written in your heart to do so. I have been in similar situations and I think you are not wasting your time.
Wishing for better days ahead for you.
Gary

DeleteHope you and Penny have a great week-end.
