I'LL GET THERE:
It was with some intrepidation,
I descended the stairs to the front door,
Hoping it would be the doctor,
To treat my shoulder oh so sore.
Yes, it was he standing on the doorstep,
Not looking pleased I could tell.
Once inside my apartment
He established why I was not well.
"It's All To Do With Your Age"
He procceeded to say.
I'll inject it just this once more,
But in the future....no way.
Well I disagree with him,
Whatever age you may be.
One has the right surely,
To be in life "Pain Free?"
The shot has worked wonders,
Am able to move with ease.
But will fight his decision about my health,
Even on bended knees.
I admit I'm no spring chicken,
And I will highlight my healthcare.
Whatever it takes and to whom,
Oh yes believe me I'll get there.

A well written piece with good rhymes. Glad you had your injection and it has eased some of your suffering. Sorry the doctor has said you can't have another one! I hope all ends well. Blessings to you. Enjoy your day, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Many thanks Andrew for your lovely comment, the NHS here in Bournemouth leaves much to be disired.

That's dumb. Here, you're willing to pay for it, they'll give you just about any drug you need. (Within reason.)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about age Alex, once you've retired in this area you become a liability cost and time wise.

That is ridiculous. Because we get older we're supposed to "live with the pain?" Stand up for your rights. I know, even here, when we're "older" the doctors don't schedule yearly check ups anymore, more like every two years and they don't do echos and other tests they used to, at least this has been my experience. Hang in there for those shots. No one should have to live in pain when there's help available. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support Beverly, They even stopped my Epilepsy treatment earlier in the year but have that back thank goodness. I wish my family would speak up for me but as they haven't seen me in years they don't know what's going on.

Age should have nothing to do with it, if you need these injections you need them, end of. I would seriously think about changing doctors if the current one refuses to give you any more.
ReplyDeleteHere in the Bournemouth area Tigermouse I have found the NHS and Primary Care intolerable. I've lived in Bristol, Weymouth, N. Ireland and SPAIN and have NEVER been treated like this.

That's ridiculous! If you need another injection, you need another injection. Age really should have nothing to do with it at all.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you, Yvonne.

Hi Gary made a hash will spelling above so deleted it.
DeleteThanks for your concern but I have issues with the NHS here in Bournemouth. All age related and also being Epileptic. Age DO matter unfortunately in this area.
Take care.
Yvonne.
Good luck in this battle. You would think health care should care. It's all a mess these days no matter where you live. Hang tough
ReplyDeleteI guess you're right Joanne. Thanks for your comment.
