LOOK FOR THE LIGHT:

I wrote this after I found a new life after
I became a widow.
I write this today hoping to feel like this again
without my son John.

LOOK FOR THE LIGHT:
All of us must have experienced
Being in the "Dark Tunnel" of life.
In the depths of despair,
Through many troubles and strife.

In that "Dark Tunnel",
Is "Tenacity", "Acceptance" and "Hope".
If you look for the light
You will be able to cope.

In all corners of the world
There are people worse off thans us.
Look for the light,
Without further ado and fuss.

I can personally relate to this,
Believe me folk it's true.
With "Tenacity", Acceptance" and "Hope"
That light will shine on you.

The end of that "Dark Tunnel,
Is a joy to behold.
When that light shines on you,
Making you feel less alone and cold.

  1. There is always light where there is hope. The sun always rises on the night.

    1. I do know Alex that where's there's hope there is light but right now I am finding life oh so difficult without John.
Totally alone (except for shopkeepers) is not good and being winter can't venture out as I would like.
      Thank you for coming by.

  2. Keep a light on today. And use a smile to light up someone else's world - a shop keeper, yourself in the mirror.

    1. Good advice Joanne, but where I've lost weight since John's passing and more tram lines on face the mirror shows the reflection of a stranger. I do appreciate your coming by.

  5. Keep looking for the light, Yvonne. It's always there, we just sometimes don't see it. Your poem is lovely, as always. And the cat picture is adorable. May you have a new Thursday calm and relaxing. Hugs.
