DECLUTTERING:

Sorry for the absence but anxiety
reared it's ugly head about the global crisis.

DECLUTTERING:
I am into my sixth week in isolation.
What a lonely senario to be in.
I've tired to be more positive.
So ended up  "Decluttering".

There were a number of boxes,
Still unopened from when I moved.
So decided to sort out the contents.
Which has made life more improved.

There were many memories in the boxes,
Concerts of Danny Boy.
My, those were the days I can tell you,
Days of filling my life with joy.

Then I got down to the task in hand.
To "Declutter" this head of mine.
Lots of fears of this virus....not good
Which has prevented me writing my rhymes.

When one puts things into perspective,
Not a pretty picture I saw.
Not the Yvonne of yester year,
But one I aim for one and all.

My daughter is proving a God send.
We phone daily I will tell.
Still her and her husband doing my shopping.
To ensure I am eating well.

Can't wait for the hairdresser to re-open,
I by pass the mirror each day.
It's way past having it coloured and cut.
As I look the other way.

I hope all of you are well,
Despite all what's going on.
Missing out on all this spring sunshine.
Is certainly friends no fun.

PLEASE TAKE CARE:

  1. I am glad your daughter has been a great blessing to you! It is hard not to get down during these times. I struggle at times but then I try to remember how blessed I am. I have stopped watching the news and instead listen to podcasts of sermons. Much more reassuring and comforting. May these days and soon.

  2. So glad you shared a poem today. Isolation is not fun but I have found that we can still connect. Glad you're in touch with your daughter daily. My mom and I are too. I need to take your lead on decluttering, though I am cleaning some extra.

    1. We women and our hair, I was/am getting over anxious about the whole situation so I thought of my Daniel and his wonderful inspirational songs. Last week(15th) it was eighteen months since my son John passed away in Spain....seems like yesterday.
Thank you Alex for coming by, hope your mother succeeds in her hairdo.

  6. You sound like you're doing better, Yvonne. That's great. I know it's been tough for you, but you are strong and will see it through. Take care, sweet lady. Say a prayer. We're all with you and we will survive. When we survive this, we can deal with anything. Yes. Have a good weekend.

  8. so happy to see this post. Glad you could declutter some boxes and the mind. It's tough for all, no doubt. I, sad to say, took up some scissors and hacked at my bangs. Oh yeah - looking good (sarcastically written). Oh well. Just hang in there!!!
