IWSG SEPTEMBER 2018:

The first Wednesday of the months is
when we write about our insecurities.
A group founded by Alex J. Cavanaugh
and his group of helpers who does a great job.
My thanks go to them.

To you alll have a wonderful month:

THE iNSECURITIES OF SEPTEMBER:
 Suddenly Septemeber is upon us.
A month for me not of good cheer.
It's twenty years ago this month
I lost my husband, a man so dear.

It was then my life changed completely,
I felt like a fish out of water.
After berevement counselling,
I knew my life I had to alter.

I started to go to concerts,
That took me worldwide.
Then I found I could write poetry.
My feelings in writing I could not hide.

I have had four books published,
Of which I'm so very proud.
But I wish I wasn't so lonely,
Not having my family around.

Solitude is a pain in the backside.
I could go days without seeing a soul.
That is why I've taken to early morning walks.
Many greet me with "Good Morning" as I stroll.

I appreciate life is what you make it.
From it's beginning to it's end.
That is why I enjoy blogging.....you see,
I get a little help from my friends.

  1. I had forgotten how much I enjoy your poetry! Solitude has it's advantages, but honestly it sucks most of the time. I'm a little worried that I'll retreat from people once I retire. Not a good thing.

  6. So can relate to this after losing my husband almost 5 years ago. While I am trying to rebuild my life that has changed so much too, I still feel lonely, even with a boyfriend. I think it's a hard part of life that we have to live with. Hope you get through the month. My thoughts are with you!

    1. Thank you Natalie, as you know it's a hard experience, I did have a new man in my life for quite a few years but he was not the person I thought he was....violent.

  7. It sounds like you need a new goal, something that won't tax you but give you that sense of adventure.
