IWSG AUGUST 2019:

Weleome to The Insecure writer's support Group.
Hope you all have a wonderful August Month.
Thanks to Alex and team for keeping this wonderful group
on it;s feet. The question "Does Writing Take You
By Surprise?" the answer for me is yes.

On Sunday I started a new book,
It was a spur of the moment thing.
It's to celebrate the life of my son
The highs and lows he endured  like a king.

I've written the intoduction,
The acknowlegements, the blurb too.
A couple of poems to start me off.
It's taken me by surprise I'll tell you.

It's a thing I feel I need to do.
However long it may take.
He was a wonderful son whilst alive.
I MUST do it for his sake.

For me these past twenty years,
Writing poetry has taken me by surprise.
For at school many years before.
It was one subject I did dispise.

Would do anything to avoid the class,
Thought poetry was a thing of the past.
It wasn't until my husband passed on.
That poetry writing  made an impression that would last.

HAPPY AUGUST ONE AND ALL:

    1. If you only knew I went to great lengths to avoid poetry clases at school and it took me to my middle age to realise it's a great way to express one's feelings.
Thanks for your good luck wishes Diane.

  7. I'm so excited to hear that you're writing a poetry book, Yvonne. Keep us in touch with how it's going. It is strange sometimes how life turns out. No desire to write a book when you were young, and look at you now. Wonderful.
