A MONTH INTO SELF ISOLATION

Hi one and all, have returned for a while
while my internet and land phone line is working:
A MONTH INTO SELF ISOLATION:
It's been a lonely month,
That I can relate.
I hope you're all well and happy.
Whislt this world is in a sorry state.

To myself it's really frightening,
I've gave up watching TV.
Hearing all the details of the virus.
Is really getting to me.

The things in life I took for granted,
Just to take a little walk.
To smile at passing people,
Perhaps stop to have a talk.

To visit my hairdresser,
When I needed to.
My hair is way out of control these days,
This I'm telling you.

Just to go shopping is another thing,
These days that is a "No Go".
My darling daughter and husband,
Their kindness to me  they have shown.

They have continued to do my shopping,
Each and every week.
Leaving the shopping outside my front door.
I see them in their car....as I take a little peep.

How is this situation affecting
Each and everyone.?
I've thought of you all often.
Looking out of the window at the glorious sun.

I wish you all a peaceful Easter.
Whatever you may do.
There's one thing that's for sure.
I'll be thinking of you.

  1. Don't watch the news. It's just depressing.
Just hang in there and stay safe.

  2. so glad you popped in for a hello. Believe me, you might be alone but you are NOT alone. We're all out here in our homes, trying to NOT watch the news (it can be just depressing), and generally killing time with bad hair. So, truly have a laugh. Wave out your window - glad for your daughter and hubby - that's awesome of them to help you.
And smile across the pond. Happy Easter to you and take good care.

  3. That's sweet your daughter continues to get your groceries.

I work from home and usually just venture out for the basics - groceries and the post office - but even I am feeling the isolation of staying at home.

  4. Good idea not to watch the news. So good that your daughter and SIL are there to help you Yvonne! I hope you can at least step out front or back and enjoy some sunshine even if you can't take a walk during these times. I'm hopeful things will take a turn for the better and life will return to a new normal. I'm hopeful it will be sooner than later!

    Happy Easter!

  7. I hope that you have a peaceful and enjoyable Easter, Yvonne. I have thought of you often, and how isolated you must feel cut off from all your pleasures, like a walk along the shore or having a treat somewhere. I'm really happy to hear that your daughter and SIL are helping you with your shopping, and her wheelchair bound! That's amazing. Terry and I are being very careful. We're both older, and I have asthma and am allergic to almost all antibiotics. I try to walk outside every day, but other than that a a few trips to the store, I've been at home for over a month now. Please take care. Eventually this will be behind us. Hugs to you!

  8. I'm thankful your daughter and SIL can help you on these difficult days. I go buy groceries and take a nice walk once a day, other than that, I stay in the house or outside in my yard. It's rather interesting seeing all the different masks people are wearing. I made one for myself. It looks like a two-year-old made it but it covers my nose and mouth. This too shall pass. Take care of yourself. Blessings.

  9. I think what's happening in today's world is making most of us realize the blessings we had. When we lose them, the way we are now, it suddenly dawns on us what we're missing. I think it will all turn out fine, and we may be a bit wiser. Take care of yourself, Yvonne. Blessings to you.
