THE A TO Z CHALLENGE 2021:......Y

THE A TO Z CHALLENGE 2021:

Y  IS FOR YVONNE AT YOSEMITE NATIONAL

PARK:

After saying goodbye to San Francisco,

Which I wrote about earlier this week.

We climbed on to the coach,

New views we were going to seek.

Once out of the city,

It was very barren land.

The sun had dried all the rivers

Making wildlife very bland.

We travelled through the desert,

Joshua trees appeared now and then.

Mountains all so evident,

Been there since heaven knows when.

We at last reached our destination,

Yosemite National Park.

The scenery was breath taking,

Our moods, happy as a lark.

The sight was so awesome,

We disembarked our coach.

To take in the wonderful scenery,

Drinking water for parched throats.

Many mountains still had snow on their peaks,

As the snow suddenly thawed,

It was a sight to behold

As we witnessed cascading water falls.

The highness of the mountains

Against the running of thawing snow.

It reminded me of the beginning of the world,

Millions of years ago.

  3. Yosemite is such a beautiful place but it has become so crowded. The only time I've been there was when I was a kid in about 1962 I think. We stayed in a sort of a tent-like accommodation. Now I understand you have to make reservations to go to the park because it's so crowded. I think they are trying to ban private vehicles, but I'm not sure they've managed that yet.
