THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS:
I enjoyed my walk to the beach yesterday,
The sun was shinning bright.
Many people were walking their dogs,
What a delightful sight.
I enjoyed it so much
In the afternoon decided to go again.
But dear o dear dear friends.
I got soaking wet with rain.
It was unexpected ,
Returned home to have a shower.
To change my soaking wet clothes.
That passed away an hour.
The week before Christmas,
Many chores to be done.
I shall be completly alone.
The TV will be my fun.
I shall also be thinking of Christma's past,
Of when the kids were small.
They were so, so happy times.
I can recall them all.
Are you prepared for the "Big Day?"
Shopping all dusted and done.
That you can sit back and relax
To enjoy the Festive Fun?

brrr. a winter rain can chill the bone. Glad you got home and warmed up.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it's a week until Christmas. Take care
Thank you Joanne, yes I got home ok but wet.
DeleteHave a good week.
Yvonne.
Sorry you got soaked! Hopefully it doesn't rain on you today.
ReplyDeleteThat is not a happy cat...
Not raining today but forecast it from Tuesday onwards.
DeleteHave a good week Alex.
Yvonne.
Greetings Yvonne. So sorry you got caught out in the rain! Tut. I've been caught out many a time with walking Sadie! Enjoyed the read. Again, you are a good poet and I look forward to reading your poetic-pieces that are well-written. Sorry for my absence of late! I'll come back and catch up on your earlier pieces. Blessings. Love love, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew, Good to see you're back. Hope you are well.
DeleteYvonne.
Rain can sure show up unexpectedly. It reminds me of the song, "Singing in the Rain" though I don't imagine you were singing. Glad you got home safely, if wet. We had clouds but no rain. The wind was chilly so the cat and I did not stay outside for long.
ReplyDeleteIt is extremely windy as I write this Beverly and can't sleep.
DeleteThanks for a lovely comment.
Yvonne.
Hi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteSorry you got a soaking and I'm not joking. Yep, Christmas will soon be here and hopefully it's full of cheer.
I do know what it's like to be alone, my friend. Thankfully, we do have the blogging community on the other side of our computer screens.
Take care.
Gary
Thanks Gary for the visit. I hope you are well.
DeleteOne has to experience true loneliness to appreciate what it is like.
I hope your Christmas goes well for you.
Take care.
Yvonne.
Hi Yvonne,
DeleteIndeed and the loneliness shall be even more profound since my son and I had to have Penny put to sleep on October 23.
Be well, my friend.
Gary
I am so sorry Gary about Penny, that was a week after my son John passed away in Spain. October not a good month.
DeleteI will be thinking of you and son. Yake care.
Yvonne.
Maybe you'll be alone for Christmas in person, but you'll be in the thoughts of a lot of your online friends. I am ready for Christmas and am hardily sick of the cold rain. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteYes Susan, It's being on line that keeps me going at times.
DeleteI'd be lost without my laptop.
Have a great Christmas.
Yvonne.
