YESTERDAY'S MADDNESS:
Yesterday was the hottest June day
On records since records began.
I myself sat at home.
With my cool air fan.

Others apparently had other ideas,
As you can see above.
They descended from all over,
To the beach that I so love.

Social distancing went out of the window,
Which made the national news.
Where had people's common sense gone?
I was certainly not amused.

Perhaps they didn't know
That we're going through a pandemic.
Are people's lack of common sense,
Result in more people becoming sick?

I think out local authority,
Will be introducing some new laws.
But has the damage already been done,?
Well folk on that note I will pause.

With another weekend in sight.
Please keep safe and well.
It's good to have such good blogging friends,
That I can honestly tell.

  1. It made World news - we saw that pic. Wow. Texas is berserk right now with no one following mask rules, etc and hospitals are filling back up. Oh people - just behave. Great poem. Stay safe my friend and away from your beloved beach.

    2. Sorry for the deletion Joanne, So my part of the world was shown worldwide? but not for a good reason. Sorry your part is still filling hospital beds with the virus, when will people learn?

      Do enjoy your weekend.

  2. I heard, if you can believe what you hear on the news and from the "experts", that the virus is harder to catch outside, but really what do they know about it?

People are tired of being cooped up and indoors. I can see them going a bit wild and going out enjoying the beach and being outside.

Our numbers are high and then I just read a headline of an article that wondered in the virus spreads through air conditioning . I have to read the article but if it does spread through air conditioning, then we in Phoenix will have high numbers because with temperatures at 111 you need air conditioning, otherwise it is really uncomfortable.

    Crazy times we live in.

    1. That photo happened to be true Betty, many beaches along the South Coast here were the same. As for air conditioning I am getting confused with all the advice and causes and what to do about them. As you say Betty crazy times we l;ive in.

  4. I saw that, too. Our beaches here have been crowded. And yet, every single county along our coast have had low, low case numbers and the beaches have been open for almost two months. Outside is safer.

    1. Where I live the council is considering closing the beaches after yesterday's fiasco. I get completely confused over possible reasons for the outbreak of the virus.
Hope your weekend is enjoyable Diane.

  5. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking. They read or hear that the virus is getting worse, yet they go outside and act like all is normal. I hope they don't pay the price. Keep yourself safe, Yvonne. That's what I'm doing. Some day, we'll have our lovely world back. When is the question. Take care.

    1. Thank you Beverly, I am more scared about going out now with the fiasco of Thursday only a stone throw away from me.
Some people either don't understand or don't care.
      You also keep safe.

  6. We saw it on our news too, Yvonne! I don't understand what people are thinking. The only thing under my control is my behavior, so I make the best decisions I can. For right now that means staying at home and only going out for infrequent runs to get essentials. At least I can walk carefully in my neighborhood, and I have open space and a park nearby. My mask goes with me everywhere, and I social distance resolutely. Stay safe, my friend!

    1. I have gone by the book, staying in, washing hands everything they want us to do yet all these people invade our beautiful coastline with no social distancing or masks. When will they learn? Thanks for your comment Louise.
