To all of my US buddies,
Happy Fourth of July.
May happiness be the order of the day,
As you let world problems go by.

There may be restrictions on celebrations,
That there is no doubt.
But I'm sure deep in your hearts,
There will be contentment inside and out.

I'm sure there will be a firework display.
A highlight for any celebration.
Please enjoy, even if watched indoors.
From your great nation.

I too will be celebrating the day,
As It's my grandsons' birthday.
I won't be seeing him.
But thoughts of him in my heart will stay.

    Thanks for the poem Yvonne! Celebrations indeed are toned down here. There will be firework displays that people can watch from their cars. Thing is it is supposed to be 110 degrees tomorrow. Sitting in a car with the air conditioner on doesn't sound appealing to watch the fireworks. We'll be staying home and having a quiet day.

    So much has changed this year. I remember we used to go to the Air Force Base nearby where they always put on a great show with fireworks that lit up the sky. I don't know what's going on this year because I will stay inside. Can probably watch some on TV but it won't be quite the same. Have a safe 4th. Whatever you do.

    Thanks, Yvonne! We have rumbles of fireworks in the area right now, even if it is sprinkling after an afternoon of rain. The fireworks are ones that individual households are shooting off. Terry and I are going to watch the fireworks on tv ~ Washington, DC and New York. Our dinner is waiting on a pot of homemade beans. They've been cooking over 11 hours ~ after soaking all night and parboiling for 30 minutes. Beans didn't take this long in Nova Scotia. It must be the altitude. But they will be worth the wait. I hope that your grandson has a nice birthday. It's sad that you won't get to see him. Tough times. Take care, my friend! Hugs to you!
